How To Lose Belly Fat Following A Low Carb Diet

Do you want to know how to loose belly fat? Are you overweight even though you don't eat that much? Have you ever followed a weight loss diet closely, only to have lost just a few pounds before you stopped seeing results altogether? Do you gain weight very easily while just eating normally? Have you ever wondered if your weight problem was hereditary?

If you've answered yes to these questions then you could greatly benefit from a controlled carbohydrate eating plan.

Barbara Cobb had been battling her weight for most of her life. When she was younger, it was very easy for her to shed weight simply by cutting back on her food intake, and when the weight returned she would repeat the process again and again. But by her late twenties she started to notice that it was harder to actually lose the weight and a lot easier to gain it back and then some. Soon, everything she ate seemed to add weight especially around her belly and nothing she tried worked no matter how low fat the diet she followed.

"All you need is more will power" she was told by her doctor

Barbara fell into a trap that most people fall into when following a "Yo-Yo" diet trying to lose weight for any length of time. Her problem was not a character disorder and had nothing to do with her will power. Her problem was a chemical disorder. Her own body had betrayed her. But to get back on track she needed to understand the cause of the chemical disorder. This is the root cause of problems when it comes to being overweight for most people

For Barbara, the answer to losing weight (especially how to loose belly fat) lies in understanding the chemical disorder that has taken place over the years

The effects of insulin

Your body is a energy burning machine that's always active. And the chemical that powers the machine is called glucose or blood sugar. Insulin is the hormone that controls glucose. Your body uses three substances for fuel: fat, protein and carbohydrates. and will turn carbohydrates into sugar for your body to burn quickly and easily.

Sugar is your body's first fuel of choice. Insulin transports that sugar(glucose) to the blood cells for immeadiate use and stores the excess in the form of fat to your belly, hips, thighs and othe area for use later.

Primative man did not have to worry about the excesses of carbohydrates in his diet and needed all the sugar that he could find simply to survive. As recently as the turn of the last century, the average person ate as much if not more fat (animal, butter, lard) than what is consumed on average today.

The biggest change is the huge amount of sugar the each person on average now consumes. At the turn of the last century the average consumption of sugar was 10LBS, a year. by 1975 that number had skyrocketed to 300LBS.

Sadly our bodies are still primative and have not yet caught up with the "advances" that 20th century food disribution has caused.

Excessive carbohydrate intake results in high amount of blood sugar which overstimulates insulin production. When this happens a person who is
already struggling with their weight becomes heavier as their liver converts glucose into stored fat. The body literally becomes a fat producing machine

Lipolysis: The process of dissolving fat

If you have been overweight for a while your body has high levels of insulin that will not allow you to lose any weight. By following a diet with fat and low enough in carbohydrates you will force your body to burn fat as it's primary fuel instead of sugar. This process is called Lipolysis.

This will also force high levels of insulin to return to normal. and will allow blood pressure to drop as well, since one of the side effects of excessive insulin is retention of water and salt

Lipolysis triggers the production of ketones which like glucose, transport energy to the blood cells but with an added benefit of reducing your appetite

Lipolysis can be your life raft saving you from the peril's of heart disease, diabetes and stroke. but most of all it can be the catalyst of how to loose belly fat quickly
