Modern Kitchen Design On A Budget
65
Modern kitchen design can be very expensive sometimes costing many thousands of dollars. And if the cost is out of the range for what you had in mind, then it can become very discouraging. If it's been a while since you have updated your kitchen and your on a budget that won't allow you to spend the big bucks for a full blown remodeling job, there are some simple changes that can be done to create a modern kitchen design that are very powerful that can completely change the dynamic of your kitchen. And you can still maintain a budget
Changing The Room With A Different Color
Simple yet very
powerful is the effective use of paint to create a new look and feel to
your walls. You can try a different shade of your existing wall color
or trade up to a color that you have never tried before to get
completely different look just remember that you want the new color to
match the rest of the kitchen's decor, still the range of colors is
wide enough to be creative to achieve the look that make you happy
Getting The Most Use Of An Existing Floor
Replacing a kitchen
floor can represent a large percentage of the cost to remodel. A cost
cutting alternative is giving the existing floor a good cleaning and
using area rugs or runners to add colors to the entire kitchen. If you
haven't used area rugs in the kitchen before, you'll be surprised at
the effect they will have. Get one that is easy to clean (like wool) and
has a lot of accent colors that already exist in your kitchen's color scheme and design already
Kitchen faucets and sinks
Updating the faucet by itself can
change the entire look of the kitchen, Most faucets today are a lot
easier to replace on your ow and can save you the money that hiring a
plumber would than their older counterparts. Just remember to match up
the faucet with the right sink, counter-top and kitchen cabinets. A
faucets finish should accent the rest of the kitchen's decor. For
instance, an oil rubbed bronze kitchen faucet is great with darker
wooden custom kitchen cabinets while a stainless steel faucet goes well
with stainless steel sinks, and ultra modern designs
Make It Look Like A Modern Kitchen
Tired, worn-out display items
on your counter-tops keeps your kitchen looking run-down and old. Why
not replace them with playful colorful container jars for your kitchen
that are pleasing to look at filled with cookies, flour, and coffee
beans. Use the type of display items on the counter-top that add a
feeling of warmth.
Resurface The Kitchen Cabinets
The dramatic effects that paint
can have is not regulated to just the kitchen walls, the same money
saving rules applies to resurfacing the kitchen cabinets as well. When
painting the cabinets you want to use either a roller or spray gun to
make the paint look even and remover the cabinet door and knobs.
Creating A Display Shelf
Choose one of the kitchen cabinets that
will act as an exhibit. This cabinet will be home to your best china
and and other glassware as well as your best silverware. Do this by
removing the cabinet door completely or better yet replace it wooded
door with a decorative glass door. Decorate the cabinet with dramatic
paper or paint. this small display is the showcase of the kitchen and
should be in a location that is center to the cabinets
Modern
kitchen design on a budget can be a challenge but in the end it can be
a lot more rewarding since you are being challenged to create an
updated kitchen with limited resources. Just remember that this is your
personal project and you don't have to rush when making a design
decision.

Great ideas here to get the most out of budget renovations. My favorite way to entirely change a kitchen is painting the cupboards. Regardless of the style, depending on the paint finish you use you can make them look anywhere from modern to country.
